Welcome to the 2022 ASI Osprey Cam, which is streaming live from a tributary of the Chester River. This year, the first osprey was spotted near the nest on March 9, and the first nest landing was seen on March 10. This is a week earlier than we normally see the osprey in our area. In the past they have arrived just around St. Patrick’s day.
Update 4/13/22 The first egg was spotted in the nest! Females typically lay eggs 1-2 days apart, and lay up to 4 eggs.
Update 4/19/22 We have seen 3 eggs in the nest!
Update 5/16/22 The first chick has hatched!
Update 6/28/22 Sadly, the only chick that hatched this year fell out of the nest last week and did not survive. Thank you to those of you who have tuned in to watch another osprey season. It has been a tough few years on the nest.
