Alarm Text Questions

I got an alarm text notification but I ignored it. Now what?

If you don’t respond to the text message, the phone call will still occur as normal after 30 seconds. The text actually occurs at the instant the signal goes through to the Central Station, which is much faster than the old way of calling on the phone.

I received an alarm notification from the Central Station and I cancelled. How do I know it worked?

The system is fully two-way. The app will tell you if the alarm has been cancelled.

I cancelled the alarm, but I didn’t mean to. What do I do?

Within 5 minutes of cancelling, if you change your mind, you may simpley swipe the app to send the authorities. You can always call the Central Station if you would rather at 1-800-932-3822

I told them to send the authorities on the alarm, but now I want to cancel. What do I do?

You may be able to call 800-252-7622 to cancel, but if a dispatch has already occurred, they may still respond.

I cancelled the alarm with the text, but my alarm system is still going off.

The text only goes to the Central Station. We will be happy to help you with your keypad if you need technical help. If you want to have remote control of your alarm system, we can help with that too.

I received a low battery signal and then did_________. Now what?

Acknowledge: You have acknowledged the alarm, but no action will be taken to either stop future notifications of to fix the issue. Selecting Acknowledge will open up the menus below:

Place on Disregard: You may be asked for your password; this will put just this signal on test for the time specified.

Notify Service: You can shoose to email or call our office here in Chestertown for help or service. 410-778-6112

Take No Actions: We will not change anything about the alarm status. If the signal goes off again, you will receive more notifications as though you had not been notified.

What is this “chat” thing on my app?

The chat shows all of the people who are on the notification list and who also have their mobile numbers registered to receive text notifications. If they are highlighted, it means they have the app open. You can initiate a chat inside the app to ask questions, or to communicate with one another about the alarm.
